Billy has had great back to back wins in the past seven days.
As a member of the Huntswood Golf Club (Buckinghamshire), Billy Wood played in his first Men’s Captains Day.
As Billy is only 9 years old, taking victory was a very special feeling.
He became the youngest ever player in the event to have his name engraved on the trophy.
Success at The Shire
Following Billy’s success in the men’s competition, the next day he went on to take two more trophies playing on the Hertfordshire Futures Tour at the academy course of The Shire, designed by Seve Ballesteros.
With a field of 95 players, Billy won the lowest gross on the day, with a 5 over par round, scoring 35, one shot ahead of his closest rival, as well as the nearest to the pin prize.
Billy’s next challenge is to see if he can win his age division (9-10) playing with the British Junior Golf Tour at Brandon Wood, an IMG Junior World Championship regional qualifying event. If Billy can win a spot it the final, played in October, he may find himself winning a place in the 2018 World Championships in California next July.
Congratulations Billy, keep it up!
