***CURRENT STUDENT RECEIVES SCHOLARSHIP TO AMERICA***

Current Darren Clarke Golf School Full Time student Joseph O’Neill from Tralee has received a four year scholarship to Kansas, America. Joe will be studying a degree in Sports Management while continuing to develop his golf. Joe currently plays off a handicap of scratch and is a former Irish Representative.

Joe is currently finishing off his second year with the DCGS and is scheduled to travel out to the states in August.  He has been working hard over the past two years to develop his golf whilst studying an Extended Level 3 Diploma in Sports Studies. Joe has been an excellent student who has continually shown an enthusiasm and dedication to improve and he is very much looking forward to his US adventure “ I can’t wait to get going, I’ve heard a lot about the system over there and I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”

Joe’s highlights during his time at the DCGS are a top five finish in the individual competition at the British Schools and Colleges Finals in 2016 and a top five team finish at the same event in 2017. Joe was also picked to represent Ireland in his first year at the school which was an extremely proud moment for him and one that will surely stay with him for a long time.
